ARGUS Valuation - DCF Virtual Training
As long as you can connect to the Internet and a phone line, you can train from anywhere! Get the training you need without leaving your office or your home. Interact with an ARGUS Valuation - DCF consultant online in a small group setting or one on one.
You have two options for virtual training – Public Virtual Classes and Private Virtual Classes.
Public Virtual Classes are small group sessions open to the public at a low price. These sessions cover all the basics for setting up a property and running reports in ARGUS Valuation - DCF. See below for a list of classes and the link to register. Each session lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes and costs $150 per session per person.

Basic Property Set-up
This module will set up a basic office property, input miscellaneous revenues and expenses, and input basic tenant information. A cash flow report will be generated to review.
Rent Roll
This module will cover the set-up of multiple tenants utilising complex rent schedules and leasing terms. You will learn to set up detailed market leasing assumptions as well as run tenant level reports and expense reimbursement revenue reports.
Detailed Reimbursement Methods
This module will model simple and complex reimbursement methods and apply them to tenants. Individual tenant and expense reimbursement reports will also be used in this module.
Yield Menu and Reports
This module will cover the Yield Menu functions in ARGUS Valuation - DCF including purchase price, resale
calculations, debit financing, and present value discounting. In addition, there will be a detailed
review of the most commonly used reports in ARGUS Valuation - DCF as well as a review of reporting capabilities.
Private Virtual Classes are one-on-one sessions set up with you and a trainer. You may also elect to set up a Private Virtual Class for small groups in one company.

Portfolio
This module will create a file which combines the cash flows of two existing properties. Various overrides and scenarios will be applied to the new portfolio file.
Development and Partnerships
This module will build a retail property from the ground up. Various construction costs will be input and partnership cash distributions will be modelled.
Unit Sales
This module will model a simple development of lots including the construction schedule as well as the sales schedule.
Apartments
This module will teach you to model an apartment complex with multiple unit types.
Excel Integration
This module will show you how to generate Excel Reports from ARGUS Valuation - DCF models. This session will also include importing information from Excel into ARGUS Valuation - DCF.

ARGUS Valuation - DCF Virtual Training - Frequently Asked Questions
What is Virtual Training?
Virtual Training is an online interactive training class. The training is conducted using Microsoft LiveMeeting and uses a conference call to communicate with a live trainer. We have two options available for virtual training – Public Virtual Training and Private Virtual Training.
Is Virtual Training any different from the online training done in the past?
Public Virtual training is the new format – these courses are available for the public to register online. Classes are kept to a maximum of 6 attendees per class. The online training done in the past is still available and is our Private Virtual training. In the Private Training, courses are set up one-on-one with an ARGUS Valuation - DCF consultant.
Can I still get one-on-one training?
Yes. We still offer one-on-one training in the Private Virtual training format.
How are the public virtual classes structured?
The classes are interactive training with up to six attendees. The instructor will guide you through the program providing examples along the way. Throughout the training, you may ask questions just as if you were in a normal classroom setting.
How is a private virtual class structured?
Private virtual classes are interactive with usually one student. More than one student may also participate for $50 per additional student. Private training offers more one-on-one time and the ability to ask more customised questions.
I don’t need all of these modules. Can I just take one or two?
Yes. You may take one or more as you need them. You may also mix it up between Public and Private Virtual Training.
Does this replace the Public Classroom Training?
No. While the classes will cover some of the same material, our most comprehensive public training is conducted in the classroom at this time.
Are there more modules offered than what is listed?
We are continually adding to our library of virtual training. Please check back often.
Do I need to own a copy of the software to take virtual training?
No. You will be able to use the instructor’s copy of the software during the class.
Will I receive any materials in virtual training?
Yes. An email with a file will be sent the day of the training class. The trainer will walk through the software using this documentation.
How do I sign up and when can I take the Public Virtual classes?
Go to www.argussoftware.com/education/PublicTraining.aspx to learn more about the classes, see a class schedule, and to register for the Public Virtual Training classes. You must register for each class individually, but you don’t have to take all four modules in the same week. You may spread them out if you wish.
Do I have to take them in order?
No, but we recommend that you take them in order. The classes start off very basic and grow in difficulty. So if you have not taken one of the earlier classes, you may miss something that is crucial in the later classes. The recommended order of Virtual Classes is Basic Property Set-up, Yield Menu and Reports, Rent Roll and Detailed Reimbursement Methods.
Once I have signed up, then what?
For each module you register for, you will receive a confirmation email noting the time and date of the Virtual Training. The email will also contain a Microsoft LiveMeeting link which you will use to connect to the meeting. As you enter the meeting, you will be instructed to dial in to a conference call.
