NUS Department of Real Estate Receives Commercial Real Estate's Top Investment
Analysis Software
Department of Real Estate to Begin Educating Students on Global Investment Techniques
SINGAPORE, November 13, 2006 - Realm Business Solutions Inc., the leading
provider of software solutions to the commercial real estate industry, announces the
donation of ‘ARGUS Software’ licences with a commercial value estimated at
SGD$320,000 (USD$200,000) to the National University of Singapore (NUS)
Department of Real Estate. The software donation provides Department of Real Estate
with advanced technology for teaching and research related to Commercial Property
Investment Analysis.
According to Mark Kingston, President and CEO of Realm Business Solutions, “As
the Asian commercial real estate market continues to grow and globalize; it is more
important than ever to prepare the next generation of leaders in this industry with the
tools and training necessary to create the transparent and globally interoperable market of
tomorrow. NUS is an outstanding institution of learning with which we are proud to be
affiliated.”
Realm’s donation will allow the Department of Real Estate to educate students through
simulations on how to analyse commercial real estate assets and leases; calculate
investment value and returns; forecast property and portfolio cash flows; and further
understand market realities and risks pertaining to the real estate world. For graduating
and post-graduate students, experience with the software further increases their
marketability.
“ARGUS Software” is currently the standard in providing consistency, transparency and
efficiency in the financial processes that drive the global world of commercial real estate.
“This donation marks an important milestone between NUS Department of Real Estate
and Realm,” adds Soh Har Pang, Executive Vice President and General Manager of
Realm’s Asia-Pacific operations. “The partnership with the Department of Real Estate
will bring to the forefront cutting edge technologies pertaining solely to Commercial Real
Estate while at the same time giving students ready access to state-of-the-art computing
platforms.”
"NUS Department of Real Estate is pleased to enter into this collaboration with Realm
for the provision of the ARGUS software, a widely used real estate analysis and
valuation software, for educational purposes. We envisage our graduates in real estate
to be well versed in leading state-of-the-technology software such as ARGUS. This
would considerably enhance not only the skill set of our graduates, but the standards of
the real estate industry as well," says Associate Professor Sim Loo Lee, Head,
Department of Real Estate, NUS.
