Realm Business Solutions Teams with Microsoft to Enable Next Generation Applications

Realm Product Suite to provide innovative solutions for the Commercial Real Estate Industry leveraging Microsoft Technology

Dallas Texas, May 25, 2006 — Realm Business Solutions is currently implementing technology from Microsoft to accelerate development and deployment for the next generation of the ARGUS, DYNA, BUDGET, LEASE and CTI applications as well as using the SharePoint portal environment for its collaborative online community.

Over the last year, through in-depth architect design review sessions at the Microsoft Technology Center in Texas, Realm Business Solutions, the leading software provider to the commercial real estate industry, and Microsoft have developed a best-in-breed technology framework utilizing smart-clients and emerging platform technologies. The prototype combines the best of Microsoft’s newest technology and design approaches using SQL Server 2005, and the 2.0 .Net Framework, SharePoint, Live Communication Server, Live Meeting and Dynamics Microsoft CRM.

“Using technology to better enable the commercial real estate industry to keep up with the lightening fast demand for transactions across multiple markets and languages; is one of the most important movements in the industry today,” notes Mark Kingston, CEO and President of Realm Business Solutions.

“Considering this need, it was only natural that we team up with Microsoft, one the leading workflow facilitators in the world to empower our products to interact with each other and the world of real estate technology solutions at large in extending and connecting our customer and their business processes with the world,” he adds.

Three of Realm’s applications, ARGUS, DYNA and BUDGET, will be migrating to the Microsoft .NET platform for a next generation offering. ARGUS is the commercial real estate industry’s standard asset valuation and cash flow projection tool, and has been market-tested and proven by over 15,000 users in over 40 countries worldwide. DYNA is a comprehensive suite of sophisticated financial analysis tools for real estate asset and portfolio management, and BUDGET helps its customers, many of whom are also DYNA users, streamline and simplify the budgeting process.

Further, Realm is moving its collaboration portal to a SharePoint environment, giving its users the opportunity to employ Microsoft Outlook and other programs in the Microsoft Office Suite while working with Realm’s products. The portal will be re-branded and unveiled later this Summer and will offer rich capabilities and resources to all players within the commercial real estate community.

Realm’s LEASE product automates the real estate leasing process saving its clients the substantial time and labor costs generally associated with signing a new lease as well as providing management with executive views into the leasing pipeline. Plans include a complete re-write of this application using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform. The prototype will debut at Realm’s user conference, FUSION.

“Re-writing our popular LEASE application using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform will enable our clients to run their leasing operations on a common platform, provide the necessary flexibility to customize the product to the individual needs of each enterprise as well provide management even greater visibility into their deal pipeline,” notes Michael Tuer, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Realm Business Solutions’ Commercial Division.

“The end result of this effort will transform our clients into streamlined, supercharged real estate organizations that can realize a reduction in the time and costs associated with executing a lease,” says Tuer.

“We think that Realm’s products for the real estate industry embody the concepts that Microsoft promotes everyday, improving operations, driving innovation and efficiencies for users around business processes,” says Pradeep Rathinam, General Manager of Microsoft US ISV programs. “By moving to technologies like Dynamics CRM, SharePoint and Office 2007, Realm will be empowering their customers with a software platform that can help them achieve their full potential—and, in the process, improve their organization’s performance.”

“As an industry, the vision of transparency, consistency and efficiency is within sight,” comments Kingston, “and Realm’s push to provide a global presence and global vision for its products will position it to lead this charge.”

Executives from Realm and Microsoft will be on-hand to discuss their partnership in greater depth at Realm’s user conference, FUSION, which will be held at Loews’s Miami Beach Hotel, June 12 through the 14, 2006.
