New York, NY, February 18, 2002 - Realm Business Solutions, Inc., the originator of the first Industry Operating System built for the commercial real estate industry, announced today that its new version of ARGUS (Version 10.0), to be released at the end of March, will natively read and write the XML standard reXML 1.1 (Real Estate specific Extensible Markup Language version 1.1). This new feature enables the industry to more easily move data between property management applications and ARGUS, the leading financial analysis software application.
reXML was created to provide a standard XML-based representation of the data that can now be electronically transferred between the commercial real estate's property management and financial analysis software applications. Version 1.1 includes data elements that are common to leading property management software systems (e.g. CTI, RealmEnterprise, MRI*, Yardi*, and J.D. Edwards*) and leading financial analysis tools widely utilized by the real estate industry (e.g. ARGUS, DYNA and RealmBudget).
"By enabling ARGUS 10.0 to natively read and write reXML, we are providing the tools necessary for other technology providers to seamlessly integrate their solutions with ARGUS," says Phillip Evanski, Executive Vice President of Product Development. "Although we have developed our own solution for integration through Realmx, we believe that being open with the industry enables other technology providers and users the same opportunity to build their own integration solutions."
The Realm has leveraged reXML to create Realmx, the Realm's new integration service that enables the movement of data between real estate management and financial analysis software applications. This service releases property owners, managers and other stakeholders from the cost, time, and risk of comprehensive manual data entry, making such complex tasks as budgeting and re-forecasting, faster, easier and more accurate. Realmx uses the Realm Integration Hub to authenticate users, route messages, and map data in a secure, controlled environment with appropriate back-up procedures and administrative controls. Ultimately, this saves organizations time and money by eliminating the need to develop and maintain their own in-house solution.
reXML 1.1 is available on the Realm's website, www.Realm.com. The Realm is working with a variety of industry participants to further the development of the commercial real estate industry's XML standard including the DataConsortium www.dataconsortium.org. reXML will be continually updated to include new standards and enable additional applications to be integrated.
